Homemade Nut & Seed Butters

You can make completely homemade nut butter from all kinds of nuts, almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pistachios, walnuts and also seed like flax seed, sesame or sunflower seeds and much more.

Nut butters can be make from any nuts or seeds, which contain a lot of fat. Nuts and seeds are the most perfect food that can be found in nature. They are full of protein, beneficial fatty acids, fiber, vitamins and minerals. From this we can prepare butter, that doesn’t contain synthetic additives or hydrogenated fats.

Homemade butters are not big science. All we need is food processor (such that is used for preparation of healthy drinks), 2-4 cups of nuts and seeds, 1-2 tablespoons of Virgin Coconut butter Unguentarium®, salt and sweetener (stevia, honey…) if needed. Nuts can be raw or roasted.

Put all the ingredients in the food processor and mix them, until you get smooth, runny and creamy butter. It can take from about 10-20 minutes (depending on the strength of the food processor). If the butter is to thick, you can add extra spoon of Virgin Coconut butter or milk. Store the butter in a closed jar in the fridge. It has up to 6 weeks lifetime, if not sooner children smear it.

Beside the above ingredients, you may add also a variety of spice (cinnamon works well), various kinds of sugar (cane, coconut…), raisins and so on. Let it be our imagination our only limit.
